What is the Southport Haiti Buskathon?

It is a series of arts and performance events throughout February to raise funds for Haiti. The two charities being supported are Save The Children and The British Red Cross. All funds raised will be shared equally between the above two charities.

Who are the 'Buskathon' Team?

The team is comprised of artists, musicians, writers, poets and performers who are using their time and creative energy for this cause. The team are led by artist and lecturer Anthony Wynne and the events publicity officer, Nick Hill.

What are the events?

Most of the events are music-based: from Jazz to Folk, from Barbershop to Classical.

The main event will be on Lord Street on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th February, this will take the form of a musical concert. Satellite events include performances on Chapel  Street and in various venues, including pubs, in and around Southport town centre.

Who else is involved in the event?

The Buskathon is being supported by parties such as Sefton Council, The Champion Newspaper, Dune FM, Southport GB and various local businesses. It is receiving regional and national support from the British Red Cross and Save The Children.
